Office of IP Management Launches Online Intake Forms for Inventions and Agreement Requests to Enhance Efficiency and Service
To better serve faculty and staff, the Office of IP Management has launched new online agreement intake and invention disclosure forms, designed to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and make it easier to support faculty innovation efforts. The new forms are part of the university's ongoing commitment to support innovation and the development of university spinouts by enhancing operations and supporting the research community.
"The new online forms are a major step forward in our efforts to modernize our tech transfer function," said Matt Koenig, Executive Director, Office of IP Management. "They will save us time making it easier for our faculty and staff to submit their requests all in one place."
The old forms were PDF-based and required manual processing, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. The new online forms are integrated with the university's system of record, which will significantly reduce processing times and improve data accuracy.
In addition to improving the efficiency of intake, the new online forms are part of a larger effort to provide new capabilities for faculty and staff within OIPM’s system of record for visibility into their inventions, IP, and agreements.
"We are committed to providing our faculty and staff with the best possible tools and resources to support their work," said Giovanni Piedimonte, MD, FAAP, FCCP, Vice President of Research. "The new online forms are a testament to that commitment."
"Our new online intake forms are a testament to our university's unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and supporting our faculty in their endeavors to bring their groundbreaking ideas to life. These intuitive forms will not only streamline administrative processes but also empower our faculty to focus on what they do best: groundbreaking research and innovation," said Kimberly Gramm, MBA, Ph.D., David and Marion Mussafer Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer.
The university encourages faculty and staff to use the new online forms as the exclusive means for disclosing an invention and requesting a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), data use agreement (DUA), or material transfer agreement (MTA). Agreement requests and invention disclosures can all be made at tulane.wellspringsoftware.net.
