Dr. Anne-Marie Job serves as Director of Research Proposal Development at Tulane University. She draws from her own experience in biomedical research, scientific writing, and proposal development to assist faculty in the preparation and submission of complex federal grant proposals for large, multi-investigator research programs or centers, primarily in the areas of medicine, public health, engineering, and physical, biological, and social sciences. Dr. Job holds BSE, MS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University.

Dr. Katie Carzoli is the Assistant Director of Research Proposal Development dedicated to assisting faculty in the preparation and submission of large, multi-investigator grants (e.g., program projects, center proposals, U awards). She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Florida State University, joining our team after the completion of two postdoctoral positions at LSU Health Sciences Center. Katie’s background in research and time spent as a freelance editor in the life sciences and medicine remains an asset in providing Tulane faculty with comprehensive support for the development of team science grant proposals.

Ms. Loula Burton serves as Editor for the Office of Research Proposal Development. She assists the Director and Officers with assembling, editing, and proofreading all components of grant proposals. She also manages the annual Health Sciences Research Days and edits manuscripts for Tulane faculty as time allows. Loula has been in the Office of Research since 2010, and previously served as Editorial Assistant for Peptides, an Elsevier journal. She holds an MA in Linguistics from LSU.

Rebecca Gonzales assists faculty from all disciplines with the preparation and submission of federal grant proposals for research funding. She has several years of experience providing administrative coordination and editorial support in pre- and post-award roles in basic, clinical, and translational research projects. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Loyola University New Orleans and a Master of Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Lea is the Research Proposal Development Officer for Science & Engineering and Liberal Arts. They hold a B.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Ecology & Biodiversity from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and have received research grants from organizations and agencies in the US, UK, New Zealand, and Australia. In addition to science, they have professional interests in graphic and information design.

Dr. Adrienne McGinn is a Research Proposal Development Officer for the School of Medicine. She earned her PhD in Physiology from LSU Health Sciences Center and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She has spent the past 10 years of her career focused on understanding the neurobiology of substance use disorders. She is excited to utilize her research background to assist SOM faculty in developing strong grant proposals.

Dr. Owusu is the Biostatistician for the Office of Research Proposal Development. He earned his PhD in Applied Statistics and Research Methods from University of Northern Colorado. He has extensive experience in statistical and research consulting, teaching, data analysis, and research design. Gabriel is very passionate about using his knowledge in statistics to support research proposals and address real-world problems.

Sara Slaughter serves as Research Proposal Development Officer for the Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC). She has worked at Tulane for over 10 years in research communications and pre- and post-award management. Sara assists TNPRC faculty and affiliates with proposal preparation and submission in the areas of immunology, bacteriology, molecular biology, neurobiology, pathology, parasitology, virology, and resource development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Vassar College and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College.

Nicholas Winningkoff serves as the Administrative Program Coordinator for the Office of Research Proposal Development. In this role, he provides administrative support to the department by coordinating and organizing meetings, assisting with document requests and submissions, preparing purchase requisitions, and performing corporate card reconciliations. Nicholas holds a BA in Sociology from St. Edward’s University.
