The Office of Research is pleased to announce that a Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued for a new Office of Research funded Center of Excellence. A Letter of Intent (LOI) must be submitted no later than COB June 12, 2026. Go HERE for the RFP.

Required training for all new animal researchers:

  • DCM Orientation wet-lab
  • Lecture on Federal laws and Tulane policies
  • Handling wet-lab
  • Facility tour

Additional training provided by the DCM:

  • Breeding colony management 
  • Aseptic technique for survival surgery
  • Euthanasia techniques
  • Necropsy and anatomy 
  • Anesthesia
  • Injections
  • Oral gavage
  • Inoculations
  • Blood collection
  • Specific surgical techniques
