The claim that anti-malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine can cure COVID-19 became a focus of fierce political battles that pitted “medical elites” against the promoters of this supposed curative, among them Presidents Bolsonaro and Trump.

Bryan Lee, Jr. will be presenting the annual Mary W. and Arthur Q. Davis Lecture on Human Inhabitation & Equity on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5:15-6:30pm. Lee is the Designer Principal and Founder of Colloqate and a national Design Justice Advocate.
After his initial presentation, Lee will be joined by two respondents for an interdisciplinary conversation about his remarks and to answer any audience questions.

Much like with the virus itself, many people have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its deployment. This goes beyond concerns about side effects and into the psychosocial aspects of a vaccination effort of this size. African Americans may have concerns about historical atrocities associated with the medical profession, so what makes the COVID-19 vaccination different? Those who are experiencing housing insecurity have similar apprehension, so how can they be included in these important deployment conversations?
